Mayo Project Progress

Fox panel, 66"h x 36"w

I'm working on five panels for the new lobby of the Mayo Clinic in Austin, Minnesota. I've just completed the fourth panel. In addition to the otter and nest which I shared with you in the last newletter, I have also finished the birds, shown below. One panel left!

Gallery Show
I'm having a solo show at the Lanesboro Arts Center in Lanesboro, Minnesota that opens this Saturday, Oct. 20 and runs until mid-December. I have about 35 pieces there and they are all for sale. The opening reception is Saturday from 6:00-8.

Classes
I've been teaching very occasional stained glass mosaic classes this year. Here is the last crew with their masterpieces. I have another class scheduled, but it is full. I plan on having more classes on the same "very occasional" basis! Watch my Facebook page for announcements.

My Other Recent Work

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
Mosaika in Montreal is making progress on the airport mosaics using my designs. Here is a work-in-progress shot:

More pictures can be found on my Facebook Page.

My Art at the Fair
"At the Dance" was accepted into the Fine Arts Competition at the Minnesota State Fair this year.

Other News
I directed, shot, and edited several silent movies, starring over 50 local people, that were shown to hundreds of people in the park in September. Here is a still from "Rumplestiltskin". What a fun project!

See you in my next newsletter!

Beginners Stained Glass Mosaic Class

Beginners Stained Glass Mosaic Class

In this fun beginner class, you will create your own stained glass mosaic! First you will learn a little about the history of mosaics, then we will move on to learning to cut and work with stained glass. You’ll learn about mosaic techniques and begin our individual pieces, which will be under one square foot. You will finish your mosaic at home before meeting again on Grouting Day.

Please bring design ideas, wear old clothes, and bring a lunch.

Saturday, October 27, 10:00-3:00
Sunday, October 28, 10:00-3:00

Saturday, November 3, 9:00-11:00 (Grouting Day)

Cost $100 (includes supplies and use of my tools, frame not included)
Class size 4 to 6 students.

We’ll be meeting at my house, which is 37574 Dew Drop Road. From Lanesboro, take 16 heading east. Pass Whalan, then look for 23 south. From 16, take a right on 23 and go for one mile. Take a left on Dew Drop and go one mile. My driveway is on the right. It’s very steep. (If it happens to be snowing or the driveway is snow covered, please walk up unless you have four-wheel drive. Our driveway is 3/10 of a mile long, uphill.)

If you are interested in taking this class, please email me at bkeithdesigns@yahoo.com. I’ll confirm that you have a spot. Thanks!
