Fused Glass Birds

I'm making these "Gooney Birds" for a gallery nearby. The great thing is... they keep "flying" out of there! They are surprisingly popular. They are fun to make and they are all different. My favorite part may be the copper wire legs, and I've noticed that they seem to be getting longer and bigger as I make more.

A few more for Ilona (sorry for the poor photos)...

of course they are flying out ... it's cuz they are so delightful and bring smiles, smiles, smiles!
like i was saying to lisa over at 'its a bloomsbury life' ... that i am behind in blog reading today ... but i always make myself start at the bottom and work up to the most recent posts ... and when i saw your little bird, i couldn't wait to get back here to see it and comment!
oh... and you would be proud ... i did do a 5 minute sketch yesterday ... an old green and rusted enamel coffee pot that i use as a vase in my studio ... reminds me, best get the 'lead' out again!
thanks barbara ~ would love to see more of your gooney birds ~

Thanks to both of you!

I can't believe you read a bunch of blogs every day! I get to that maybe once a week. Same with comments of flickr and all the rest. I'm bad.

But good about sketching so far. Your coffee pot/vase sounds great. I'm looking forward to drawing something again today!
